Super Chill ice replacement

Super Chill ice replacement is a variation of Chill Wrap with a perforated plastic film on one side to let water in and the usual unperforated sheet on the other. This gives us an ice replacement with less sticking during freezing and a cleaner appearance. It is a big favourite of laboratories and very high value exporters. Because the plastic doesn't have the stretch of the fabric, each Super Chill cell weighs a little less than the equivalent Chill Wrap cell.

Absorbent Liners for Containers

These liners are designed to fit Airfreight and Seafreight containers with smaller ones avai;lable for pallet lots of goods.

Condensation in Seafreight Containers
As shipping containers pass through tropical areas it is common for a significant amount of condensation to form inside the containers. If you are shipping plastic this doesn't matter too much, but what about other products?

Peanuts being shipped from the Northern Hemisphere to Southern Hemisphere countries are very susceptible to fungi. Wet peanuts can be infected by a fungi which produces harmful toxins. To prevent this it is possible to line the ceiling, and sometimes the walls, of a container with Thermasorb Seafreight Blankets. Each blanket will absorb 50 litres of condensation. Four blankets will absorb a fuel drum's worth of water. The result is dry healthy peanuts.

Any water sensitive products will benefit from the Seafreight Blanket such as dry chemicals, dry foodstuffs and items made from steel or iron that are not corrosion resistant.

Spillage in an Airfreight Container
LD3 Air Cargo Containers can have their floor lined with a single Thermasorb LD3 Air Cargo Blanket. Any liquid spills will be absorbed by the blanket which will absorb up to 45 litres of fresh water. This prevents unwanted liquids finding their way into aircraft holds.

Visit the How to Use page for information on the use of these large absorbent pads.

Absorbent Pads for Vacuum Packed Chilled Meats

Preventing blood flow from opened vacuum packs of meat is simple and hygienic if a Meat Pad is placed in the package prior to packaging. The plastic (shiny) side of the pad is placed against the meat. Any blood in the package will be absorbed and locked away inside the pad as a gel and will not be released on opening.

The Meat Pad is made differently from our other absorbents and is designed to withstand considerable pressure inside a vacuum pack and will not rupture the packaging. Various standard sizes are available.

Meat pads can be used with any vacuum packed meat including, beef, lamb, pork, venison, fish and chicken.

Our Meat Pads allow the meat to travel longer distances and maintain good colour and appearance for a longer period of time.

Seafood pads

Seafood pads are absorbent pads designed for use with seafood products. These can be live or fresh seafoods being transported or stored.

Sizes
The most common seafood pad fresh water absorbencies are 1.2 litre, 2.4 litre and 4 litre. Other sizes can be manufactured. Minimum quantities may apply.

Absorbing Salty Liquids
The Seafood Pads are famed for their ability to absorb saline liquids like sea water. A 1.2 litre seafood pad holds.... you guessed it, 1.2 litres of fresh water. Total absorbency is reduced to 230ml with salt water at 2.5%. This is plenty for use with live shellfish, fish that have been cooled with salt water ice and for most saline applications. This salt water absorbency ability is better than almost all gel-based absorbent pads on the market today.

This is what the 1.2 litre pad looks like after absorbing about 75% of its capacity.
